More progress shots! This is my midterm for Digital Painting class and just wanted to share my ideations and initial block in.
Some process shots for my last piece. It just so happens my class required some thumbnails and basic sketches so here they are! hope these help, and if you guys have any questions don’t hesitate to ask :)
Digital Painting Assignment with a focus on using photos. I was originally just gonna do an environment but after a while I thought it was uninteresting and felt too “Last of Us” so I added these cool fantasy alien people. My idea for this was they are alien “archeologists” in that they study destroyed planets trying to figure out what caused their destruction and using that knowledge to help better their home world.
Selection of this week’s DigiAnyl Homework. The two at the top and middle right are form reference pictures and the others are master studies of Steve Huston’s work. His figure paintings are crazy good and everyone should check out his work to get some inspiration!
I’m gonna start posting some more work that isn’t final illustration/renderings/etc, cause I just don’t have that many final pieces to show but also cause I have a lot of studies and hw stuff. These are studies from ref and masters for my Digital Analytical Figure Drawing Class. This is hands down my fave class of LCAD so far. The homework is something I always look forward to doing and don’t mind spending extra time on, plus I feel like I’me learning a lot not only on anatomy but values and lighting as well. Anyways enjoy!
Digital Painting HW that went a little overboard. We have to create an image with use of photo texture. Still a work in progress and would appreciate any and all criticism! Thanks!
Final fully rendered tree knight. Just corrected some perspective, cleaned up some areas, and tightened it overall with textures and more paint. Enjoy!
WIP Character concept inspired by Dark Souls 2. Ugh I’m so ready for that game, I just want to fast forward to Spring Break so I can finally play.
haha I said I would update more often and all of January I posted nothing :/ Anyways here’s a doodle I made during Digital Painting class where we told to experiment with brushes. This is also a big homage to Anthony Jones. I recently finished my one month Red Engine Atelier program with him and it’s been such a blast(If you couldn’t tell he’s one of my fave artist and biggest influences). I’ve learned so much not only from him but my amazing classmates as well. I wish them the best of luck, and strongly recommend the class to anybody in the socal/irvine area! You won’t regret it :)
