Hand study turned into some statue boss monster. This was actually a really fun thing to do during breaks and stuff.
Some sargent studies as well as plein air paintings. ugh I forgot how hard painting is but guache is pretty fun.
MonsterAlien Head Exploration. Experimenting with a combination of photo bashing and Anthony Jones rendering.
Skipped class and went to an awesome Anthony Jones workshop. Completely worth it. Here’s some practice pics trying out the stuff he did the workshop.
Haven’t uploaded anything so here’s a sketchy pic I did while being jealous of all the people who have pokemon right now. At least I’m being productive.
Another plant zombie I’ve been working on. This was originally a black and white sketch I did a while back.
A morning sketch turned into an afternoon illustration.
Thanks for the kind words :D
I approach a lot of the pictures very differently. There are some where I start with lineart and like you said block in colors till they are not visible, but for most of my more complex pictures I just start out with a black silhouette and use lighting to create form like my Trimmer Zombie. After that, I use color as well as photo and texture manipulation to get the concept to a finished/polished state. I use photoshop for everything.
I’m attending LCAD right now, but I haven’t started classes or anything yet (First day of class is this Wed for me ><). I’ll probably right a review of my semester near winter time or something.
